Cultivation + Transformation Mentorship Program

Feb.2023- Feb.2024

A 12 month mentorship program for creatives, particularly body-based artists, who are seeking ongoing support in their current practices through deeper considerations of what brings forth potency for growth, change, and transformation. The mentorship program supports creatives, makers, thinkers who are engaged in developmental processes to transform their work and working practices into spaces for potency and sustainable energy sources for the performance and production of their skills, talents, craft, and artworks.

Held by both interpersonal relationship bonding with 1:1 sessions with holly and belonging to a larger community of ‘creatures from strange lands’ of the full RB mentorship cohort, and whole RB ecofamily. Participants will receive a full ecology of support through Responsive Body communities and in interpersonal relationship with holly johnston, fellow artistic nomads with good intentions and uncontrolled impulses for creative making. Mentorship occurs through multimodal experiences of remote 1:1 sessions with holly, communal group gatherings with the full RB  Mentorship Cohort, and 2 3-day festivals with workshops, in person practice, showing/sharings, performances, music, food, and social bonding.

This is a space for exploration, confusion, deliberate attempts at failing, learning, practicing, questioning, wondering, getting lost, forgetting, adapting, potentiating, transforming, drafting, undoing, creating. holly and the RB mentorship cohort can serve as a dedicated community of care, attention, response, and support for the development of your creative work. holly offers practices for embodied dramaturgy, nervous system regulation, trauma-informed processes for repair and resiliency, performative writing, and perceptively attunes to body’s deeper intentions- she listens, senses, reads interiority and can provoke excitatory artistic impulses to fire instinctual action for courage and creativity.

Costs

$200/monthly = $2400 for 12-month mentorship program

Additional Expenses:

• Shared cost of space rentals for showing-share events in SF Bay Area and Long Beach/Los Angeles Area 

• Shared cost of promotional materials printed and distributed related to showing-share events

Schedule

• First Gathering: Feb. 2023- with group gathering of Mentorship Cohort

• 1:1 Monthly sessions: Feb, March, May, June, Aug, Sept, Nov, Dec, January 2024

• Group Gatherings: Feb 12, April 16, June/July Love Like Gravity Festival, October 8, January You Do You Festival, February 11

• Love Like Gravity- June 30-July 2, 2023, 3 day intensive workshops and showing/share of creative works, research, development, draftings of experimental work(ings)

• “You Do You” Festival- Jan 26-28, 2024, 3 day intensive workshops and showing/share of creative works, research, development, draftings of experimental work(ings)- this will serve as a culminating event for the mentorship program
