Community is at the heart of everything we do at Responsive Body. Our community functions much like an ecosystem - organically forming, self organizing, emergent, mutually reciprocal. This family has grown over the years through a common commitment to practicing body liberation together. Through nurturing connectivity and belonging, our eco-family is continuously growing a mutually reciprocal network of support. This network is strengthened and expands by responding to where there is lack of resource with embodied care, being present with life cycles, and celebrating growth, so we can see our communities not just survive but thrive.
Our eco-family includes Responsive Body’s administrative team, practitioners, practitioner trainees, and the wider community. With our wider community, we believe in the non-competitive lifting up of those who are doing the good work, that we are grateful to be working alongside in the journey and effort of creating a more humane world.

RESPONSIVE BODY Human Systems Ecology and CONTRA-TIEMPO Artivism are working as an interconnected matrix to resource human beings with access to opportunities to cultivate excellence within the performing arts, live as thriving artists, and to actively care for one another’s wellbeing. We have integrated a RESPONSIVE BODY human system ecology for creativity, performance, and production into CONTRA-TIEMPO operations and infrastructure. holly is the ‘human systems ecologist’ for CONTRA-TIEMPO. This is a support role, similar to connective tissue, it interlaces into all operations of CONTRA-TIEMPO- supportively mobilizing the movement of the Company’s activities by centering resources on wellness, health, rest, repair, and equitable distribution of visibility, bodily autonomy, responsibility, and economic prosperity throughout the whole of CONTRA-TIEMPO.
RESPONSIVE BODY Somatic Ecology is a transformative wellness initiative designed to integrate healing and sustained health into the core of CONTRA-TIEMPO's human systems. Radical Inclusion is a term used to describe shared spaces, actions, philosophies, governance, and hospitality that is grounded in the rooting principle of Loving as a vital force for life for all bodies, persons, peoples, places, spaces, at all times, everywhere. CONTRA-TIEMPO’s wellness, embodiment, and radical loving practices are supported and informed through partnership with holly johnston and RESPONSIVE BODY. The Sensory Table provides to bodies the basis that all bodies are unique and have special or specific needs that help them feel comfortable and at ease in public and social spaces. CONTRA-TIEMPO events and performances are immersive sensory experiences full of music, dancing, lights, and video inviting large gatherings of community members together. For CT community members with sensory sensitivities, neurodivergence, autism, PTSD, and/or rapid attention-focus fluctuations we provide a few supportive aids to offer your body to use throughout a performance.
RESPONSIVE BODY is a social movement, body liberation practice, and body-based therapy. Body to body and community to community, we are working together to accelerate global transformation towards the implementation of dynamical systems for the ecological sustainability of human energies and the planet. The work is simultaneously therapeutic and organizational, it is joyful pleasure but also critical thinking, it is healing and asks for the rigor that transforms passion into social change. We are creating new systems that deepen relationships to the body that enhance learning, autonomy, and creative-courageous action that celebrates boldly daring to fail.
